Brian Gardner

Brian Gardner is one of a handful of the most respected and successful mastering engineers in the world. For decades, he has mastered some of the most notable recordings with hundreds of gold and platinum records to his credit. His staying power is still evident today by being able to command up to 6 out of the top ten albums on the charts. His artist roster is whoever the biggest stars are at any point in time, such as: Michael Jackson, 2Pac, Outkast, Eminem, En Vogue, Linkin Park, Beck, 50 cent, Rush, Mary J. Blige, Ice Cube, Christina Aguilera, Blink 182, Pink, Nelly Furtato, Ja Rule, Enrique Iglesias and Janet Jackson, to name only a few. He is truly an engineer with a wide range of expertise.

From the age of 12, Brian Gardner wanted to have a career in the recording industry, but he was too young, and had to wait until he was a teenager. His first job was at Century records, a custom house that made vinyl records for schools and the armed forces. He then moved to RCA records, where he worked with Creedence Clearwater Revivlal, which lead to a job at Fantasy records in the San Francisco area during the heyday of Creedence, The Greatful Dead and the Jefferson Airplane. After 4 years in the bay area, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he joined Allen Zentz mastering. His years there included work on recordings by; Donna Summer, The Village People, George Clinton, Michael Jackson and many, many more successful records.

In 1984, he was asked to join the just opened Bernie Grundman Mastering, Since then Brian has become a major figure in the mastering business, and consistently maintains a premier position behind hundreds of gold and platinum recordings up to and including the present. He is also a grammy award winner.

Brian Gardner has made many contributions to the art of mastering. His willingness to experiment and push the boundaries as well as his fine "ears" have made him a most valuable member of the Bernie Grundman Mastering team.
